| Ileostomy Fistula may occur in medical conditions of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, particularly with Crohn's disease. An abscess (a pocket of pus) in the body degenerating into an abnormal tunnel that connects a cavity in the body such as intestine with the skin results in a fistula. Fistula formation following continent ileostomy is still being researched. |
